Our work begins now, before the 2021 fire season.
As of December 2020, we have formed a Firewise steering committee (representing at least eight residents).
December 10: wildfire risk assessment for our neighborhood (join us!)
January 2021: create an action plan
Conduct educational outreach in your neighborhood (beginning now!)
The Firewise USA program encourages local solutions for safety by involving homeowners in taking individual responsibility for preparing their homes for and protecting against the risk of wildfire. The program provides resources to help homeowners learn how to adapt to living with wildfire while encouraging and empowering neighbors to work together to take action now to reduce their wildfire risk and prevent losses.
FIRESafe MARIN and the Firewise USA program will provide necessary educational materials, training, expertise, and assistance while helping our neighborhood take action and take responsibility!
